Criteria for project selection

Projects submitted to the LEADER Region Weinviertel Ost must contribute to achieving the objectives of the LES and comply with the LEADER method and principles. In light of this, the selection procedure for LEADER projects focuses on the implementation of LEADER principles and the quality of the contributions to the key areas (five main topics, four cross-discipline topics) which were found to be particularly relevant, decisive and trend-setting for the region in the status quo analysis.

The selection process involves several steps and the decision is made with a simple majority (> 50 %) of the votes cast by members of the project selection committee:

  • CHECKING THE FORMAL CRITERIA: Determines whether the basic conditions for processing the application have been met. Applications that fail to satisfy one or more of these conditions are rejected by the project selection committee. If an application is rejected at this point, it will no longer be evaluated in terms of the quality criteria.
  • Checking the quality criteria: Determines whether the project contributes to LEADER principles and LES objectives. Projects that achieve at least 50% of the maximum available appoints are approved by the project selection committee.
  • Checking the bonus criteria: Determines whether the project is of particular relevance to the region and therefore qualifies for more funding.

If more projects are submitted than funding available in the respective call, the project selection board prioritises them on the basis of points awarded for the quality criteria. The procedure described above applies to all projects submitted.

Where justified, the selection criteria may be modified during the application period. The new criteria will be brought to the attention of the administrative authority and the LVL. Any changes will be published on the website of the LEADER region to ensure transparency.
