YOUTH PARLIAMENTS

Youth parliaments are being established to give young people the opportunity to actively participate in community life. These parliaments are to meet regularly and contribute the ideas of young people. The aim is not only to develop their own project ideas, but also to comment on planned community projects.
In this way, young people not only have a voice, but also actively learn about democratic processes, responsibility, and co-determination. Youth parliaments create a structured space for dialogue between generations. The aim is to strengthen young people's sense of responsibility and political interest—and to involve them in regional development.

TIKTOK

The Weinviertel region also has a lot to offer young people—and that's exactly what we want to show. The best way to do this is via social media, especially TikTok, where we can reach our young target audience directly. That's why we are currently setting up our own channel, where we will present leisure tips, challenges, surveys, and special places in the Weinviertel region. The aim is to show life in the Weinviertel from a young person's perspective – creatively, authentically, and in a way that encourages participation. In this way, we draw attention to regional offerings, strengthen awareness of our own homeland, and invite young people to actively shape their region and become visible themselves.

MASTER PLAN FOR YOUTH AND SOCIAL SPACE ANALYSIS

Various measures have already been taken to find out what young people in the Weinviertel region are lacking. In 2025, social space analyses were carried out in the small regions of Southern Weinviertel, Leiser Berge, and Land um Laa. In addition, surveys were conducted in the region's middle schools in 2023 and 2024. It is clear that young people enjoy living here, but there is a lack of prospects for education and employment, which is why there is a high rate of migration among 20-25-year-olds.
