Raising regional awareness for the Weinviertel

With the launch of the Weinviertel Regional Awareness project, the four LEADER regions of the Weinviertel (Weinviertel Ost, Weinviertel-Manhartsberg, Weinviertel-Donauraum and Marchfeld) and the Weinviertel tourist board have committed to improving quality of life in the Weinviertel and raising awareness for their region among Weinviertel residents. Several of the initiatives arising from shared proposals required to achieve this have already been implemented. These include events, festivals, marketing materials and a dedicated Weinviertel day.

INFORMATION aBOUT THE COURSE

In addition to the seven modules, participants explore the region on their own with the help of the  “Echt-Weinviertel-Pass”. Their experiences are recorded in the final report. There are also ten learning questions for each module. Each modul lasts four hours and takes place at different locations in the Weinviertel region—but not in the usual seminar rooms, because the principles of experience, learning, and enjoyment are covered in each module.
Further information about the training and registration can be found at www.kellergassenmanagement.at/ausbildung-echt-weinviertel

MODUL 2: WINE IN THE Weinviertel

Wine is very important in the Weinviertel region. It shapes our culture and contributes significantly to agricultural value creation in the region. Viticulture is a science that will be introduced to you with a brief journey through oenology (the study and science of wine and viticulture) and its history. The journey begins in the vineyard and leads via the grape to the finished bottle, with several stops along the way to take a closer look.

MODUL 3: CULTURE IN THE Weinviertel

This module focuses on the two multifaceted concepts of “culture” and “art.” How could they be defined? What is the personal approach of the individual participants? A brief introduction will not answer all these questions completely, but it will at least touch on them—exciting contributions to the discussion are welcome and guaranteed. In addition, the most important art and cultural initiatives in the Weinviertel region and the most important representatives of the region will be featured in this module.

MODUL 6: CULTURAL LANDSCAPE OF THE Weinviertel

How did the cultural landscape of the Weinviertel come into being and how has it changed? The “landscape” in the broadest sense determines whether and how humans can use it. Altitude, relief, subsoil, climate, geography, and many other factors are the determining factors that ultimately shape the appearance of our cultural landscape in the Weinviertel. This also has a direct impact on the way of life of the inhabitants. This module will examine the cultural and historical aspects, but also venture a look into the future. Experience fantastic views of the Weinviertel cultural landscape!
