Barrierfree park "Spitzer Park"

The Marktgemeinde Großengersdorf reports that work on the redesigned barrier-free park at the “White Cross” on the main street/the corner of the Kellergasse is completed. The redesign included the construction of the barrier-free running bus-shelter, improved seating and the installation of a drinking fountain.

The old brick bus shelter, which was decrepit and didn`t meet today’s barrier-free standards, was demolished and replaced by a light-filled barrier-free bus waiting shelter. The height of the seating was increased and a larger, and lower, timetable board to improve readability was placed in the bus shelter.

A circular paved area was created in the park, which is easily accessible from both roads.

In the circular paved area, 4 benches guarantee an easier sitting position due to the raised height of the seating and the addition of arm and foot rests. A drinking fountain was also installed at the park.

The circular paved area is surrounded by acacia with wire ropes streched around at a height of 2.80m to support the growth of vine plants which will create a natural shading.
