Demographics & Resilience Check Weinviertel East “Reality Check Regional Development”
The project will carry out a Demography and Resilience Assessment for the LEADER Region Weinviertel Ost. Building on the Demography Assessment conducted in 2020, the project will analyse the actual developments of recent years and provide updated data as a basis for decision-making for municipalities and the region. Existing demographic, social and spatial data will be updated and evaluated. The assessment will focus on topics such as population development, age structure, migration trends, commuting patterns and regional development dynamics. Analyses will be carried out both at municipal level and for the different sub-regions of Weinviertel Ost in order to identify regional differences and development trends.
In addition, the project will examine how these changes affect key areas of regional development. These include housing and local development, the economy and employment, tourism, regional supply systems, cultural landscapes, quality of life, intermunicipal cooperation, as well as resource management and the circular economy.
The results will be presented through maps, visualisations, municipal profiles and sub-regional analyses. Additional interviews with regional stakeholders will help to contextualise the findings and compare them with local experiences.
The project will result in an updated Demography Assessment, a regional Resilience Assessment, and concrete insights into current developments, challenges and opportunities. Municipalities and regional stakeholders will thus receive a sound basis for future decisions and regional development processes.
