Puppet theatre for children: The Three Little Pigs – And what happened next
The project will develop a professional mobile puppet theatre production on climate change adaptation for primary school children in the Southern Weinviertel region. Based on the well-known fairy tale “The Three Little Pigs”, the story continues after the traditional ending: the pigs now face new challenges. Instead of only protecting their homes from the wolf, they have to deal with heat, drought, heavy rainfall and other extreme weather events.
Through storytelling, humour and puppetry, children discover how buildings and their surroundings can be adapted to changing climatic conditions. The wolf also takes on the role of a dramatic weather presenter reporting on extreme weather.
The production will be designed as a mobile classroom theatre using a compact suitcase stage. This allows the performance to come directly to schools and reach children in their familiar learning environment. The project combines the climate adaptation expertise of the KLAR! Southern Weinviertel region with professional puppetry and theatre education.
