Social area analysis of the Southern Weinviertel
The goal of this project is to conduct a comprehensive social space analysis for the Southern Weinviertel region in order to better understand the living realities and needs of young people aged 12 to 23. The analysis views the social space not merely as a geographic area, but as a living environment shaped by social relationships, patterns of use, and participatory processes.
At the core is the question of how young people perceive, use, and wish to help shape their surroundings. The analysis also addresses topics such as leisure behavior, meeting places, mobility, digitalization, and educational and career orientation. The insights gained will serve as a solid foundation for future decisions and actions in the fields of youth work, community development, and spatial planning.
The results will provide a practical basis for municipalities, associations, and decision-makers to develop targeted, youth-oriented services and structures—such as mobile youth work or demand-driven public space projects. At the same time, the project promotes youth participation in regional development and strengthens young people’s identification with their region.
